1. Who these terms are for
Showbly is a creative app intended for children aged 6–12 to use under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian. By using Showbly, or by purchasing Showbly PRO, you confirm that you are an adult who is responsible for the child using the app, and you agree to these terms on their behalf.
2. What Showbly is
Showbly is a browser-based studio for making short animated shows. The free version can be used without payment. Showbly PRO is a paid subscription that unlocks additional characters, backgrounds, show formats, longer shows, higher-resolution export and removes the "made with Showbly" badge.
Free beta. While Showbly is in beta, every feature — including everything listed for PRO — is available free of charge, without payment details or an account, and Showbly PRO is not sold. Exported videos carry the small "made with Showbly" badge. We may later make some advanced features paid. If we do, we will announce it on this site in advance; nothing will be charged unless a parent chooses to buy, and shows already made stay on your device. The payment terms in section 5 apply only once paid plans are offered.
3. Your content
Everything your child creates in Showbly belongs to you. Shows are stored on your device and are never transmitted to us. Showbly's characters, backgrounds, sounds and music are original works generated by the app; you receive a worldwide, royalty-free license to use them in videos created with Showbly for personal, educational and non-commercial purposes, and for monetised personal channels. You may not extract them for use outside videos made with Showbly or use them to build a competing product.
4. Sharing responsibly
Showbly never uploads or publishes anything. If you choose to share a video created with Showbly on any platform, you are responsible for complying with that platform's rules, including age requirements (for example, YouTube requires channel owners to be 13+ or use a supervised account) and for deciding what is appropriate to share about your child.
5. Showbly PRO: purchases, subscriptions and refunds
- Purchases are processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, LLC, whose terms also apply to the transaction. Prices are shown at checkout and may include taxes depending on your country.
- PRO is a recurring subscription (monthly or yearly) that renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the link in your receipt email; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- A license key is delivered by email and can be activated on the devices used by your household (up to 5 activations). Keys may not be resold or shared publicly.
- If Showbly PRO does not work for you, contact us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use Showbly to create content that is hateful, harassing, sexual, violent or otherwise inappropriate for children, and do not attempt to circumvent the Parent Zone, license checks or plan limits.
7. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Showbly running and improving, but it is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We may add, change or remove features. Because shows live on your device, keep your own backups of exported videos that matter to you; we cannot recover data stored on your device.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from Showbly is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer protection laws give you and that cannot be waived.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the operator's country of registration (to be inserted at launch), without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
